History
Over 100 Years
Formed in 1895 by six students from around the world, the World Student Christian Federation united student organisations encouraging them to study their faith with the same passion as they put towards their studies.
It is considered the first ecumenical organisation in the world. Leading figures in the WSCF played a crucial role in the birth and growth of the ecumenical movement and in the formation of the World Council of Churches in 1948.
In the 1970s, the work of the growing federation was split into six regions and since then WSCF Europe has been working to bring unity and understanding across European borders.
